  • How do I Setup Microsoft Outlook 6?

Question

  • How do I configure Microsoft Outlook 6x to receive POP3/SMTP Email for my domain?

Solution

1. Start by opening outlook.

2. Click on Tools, and then Accounts. (click on the picture(S)  to view it full-size)

3.  Click on the Mail Tab, and then click on Add , Mail .

4. Enter in your real name, once you have done that, click on Next.

5. Enter in your email address.  If our domain name is shop-usa.com, your email address should
look like this user@shop-usa.com. When your finished with this, click on Next.

6. Now enter in your Email Name Servers:  If your domain name is shop-usa.com, your name servers
for POP3 and SMTP are:  mail.shop-usa.com (Incoming and POP)
                                             mail.shop-usa.com (outgoing and SMTP server)

    Click on Next when finished.

7.  Now enter in your Account Name. This should look like username@your-domain.com and then enter in your
     password and then click Next.

8. Click on Finished.

9. There is one more step before you can check your email with outlook. Now you need to set it up
to Send Email over your Internet connection.

(most web hosts don't have this feature, you need to use the
username and password your ISP set up for you,  but with us you can use your own info)

Click on Your new account you sent up,  mail.your-domain.com , and then click on Properties.

10. Click on the Servers Tab, and then at the bottom of the screen,  check the box that says,
      "My Server requires authentication"

Once you have checked that box,  click on Apply and then ok.  And then click on Close on your
       Internet  Accounts Window.
