Problem

 

Sometimes when adding FTP accounts the user does not have permissions to write or change
to their wwwroot folder.

 

Solution

 

Check that in the FTP account settings in your control panel manager, that your FTP account has Read and Write boxes enabled.

If so, then check to see if you have installed FrontPage extensions on your domain.

Using FTP with FrontPage can cause errors in the FrontPage extensions. Therefore Windows removes FTP access to the wwwroot folder when FP extensions are installed.

If you do have FrontPage extensions installed and you want to use FTP, you will need to delete your FTP user name and then re-add it in once you have removed FrontPage extensions.
